- Sinopec shuts Guangzhou refinery units

CHINA Petroleum & Chemical Corp., or Sinopec, shut two units at its Guangzhou refinery in southern China for maintenance Wednesday, an oil trader familiar with the refinery's operations said Thursday.
Crude runs at the 261,000 barrel-a-day refinery will decline, but not by a large amount, since only two units have been taken offline, she said. The maintenance is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 5, she said.
