- Dapeng terminal seeks LNG suppliers

GUANGDONG Dapeng LNG Terminal, located in the coastal area of eastern Shenzhen, is still seeking liquefi ed natural gas (LNG) suppliers, said a senior offi cial of one of its shareholders.
The terminal is looking for short, medium and long-term suppliers, Luther Hicks, senior vice president of project development under Gas China BP (China) Holdings Ltd., told the Asia LNG Summit in Beijing last week.
Hicks said that the terminal has a designed handling capacity of 5 million tons of LNG per year, and has already received six LNG shipments from markets like Australia, Nigeria and Oman. Guangdong Dapeng LNG Co., owner of the LNG terminal, is a 29.1 billion yuan joint venture whose shareholders include CNOOC and BP Plc.
