- Top director trio present 'Triangle'

BEIJING, Sept. 24 -- After a controversial debut at the Cannes Film Festival in May, Hong Kong action thriller 'Triangle' is set to lead the box office during the upcoming Chinese National Day holiday.
The film will roll out in mainland theaters on Oct. 3, the third day of the annual holiday week, following a reception at its Cannes premiere, where viewers complained it lacked balance in the directors' styles.
'Triangle' features the same cast -- including Simon Yam, Louis Koo, and Kelly Lin ?presenting the film with three different segments, directed separately by Hong Kong's top film-makers Ringo Lam, Tsui Hark, and Johnnie To. The three, all long-time friends, said that making 'Triangle' began as a lark of trying new things. They are set to promote the film in Beijing on Sept. 28.
Sources from major theaters say the holiday movie scene will be dominated by Chinese films, with only a few foreign pictures, among them 'Taxi 4,' the latest comedy in French film director and producer Luc Besson's 'Taxi' franchise.
