- Best Buy, partner to add up to 27 stores

U.S. electronics retailer Best Buy Co. will open one or two new stores in China by mid-2008 and its local partner, Jiangsu Five Star Appliance Co., will open up to 25 new stores, according to a company statement issued Thursday.
China's first Best Buy-branded store opened late December in Shanghai and the chairman of the company's China division, Lu Weimin, said Best Buy is pleasantly surprised by the strong performance in the store in the first month of business.
