Chinese shares started higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index opening at 3,611.63 points, up 15.19 points, or 0.42 percent.
The index, which tracks both yuan-denominated A shares and hard-currency B shares traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, closed at 3,596.44 points on Monday.
