UBS's investment bank joint venture in China obtained approval to join Shenzhen Stock Exchange as a bourse member, a signal that the Swiss bank's local brokerage venture may soon open for business.
UBS Securities, a newly formed joint venture created from the restructuring of troubled Beijing Securities, had been accepted as a Shenzhen Stock Exchange member effective immediately, the smaller of China's two bourses said Monday. The membership number of UBS Securities is 000683, the bourse said in a statement posted on its Web site.
