HONG KONG, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong stocks were closed on Tuesday for a public holiday of the traditional Chinese Dragon Boat Festival.
It was said that 2,000 years ago, patriotic poet Qu Yuan ended his life in the Miluo River, central China, in protest against the evil rulers. He was beloved by people who rushed to rescue him on Dragon Boats but failed. Since then, Chinese people have celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival each year. Dragon Boat Festival is an official holiday in Hong Kong.
