MOBILE phones resembling a pack of Chunghwa cigarettes are selling well in the electronics stores in the Huaqiangbei area in Futian District.
A 'cigarette pack?mobile phone can even hold seven cigarettes, the Daily Sunshine said yesterday.
Like most brand-name mobile phones sold in the market, the specially designed phones have MP3 and camera functions, apart from being capable of making calls and sending text messages.
At around 1,000 yuan (US$129.87) apiece, the phones are popular.
Cigarette packs are not the only designs available. Some resemble Ferrari or BMW cars, and some have Olympic signs.
Such mobile phones violate the intellectual property rights of other brands, said Lin Lishuang, a lawyer with the Elite Trademark Firm.
