- TCL sells 82% of computer business

SHENZHEN-LISTED television and mobile phone maker TCL Corp. said Saturday it has agreed to sell control of its PC business in a deal worth 60 million yuan (US$8.11 million).
The buyer, whose Chinese name translates phonetically as Changda, has agreed to pay the equivalent of 40 million yuan in foreign currency and inject 20 million yuan worth of capital into the PC unit, TCL said in a statement. TCL did not specify which foreign currency. After the transaction, TCL will hold 18 percent of the PC unit, it said.
