OVER 200 WTO experts, government officials and entrepreneurs will meet at Wuzhou Guest House in Shenzhen on Monday to discuss the challenges China faces after the WTO transition period comes to a close Dec. 11.
The Third Seminar on International Competitiveness of China's Industries will be jointly held by the Ministry of Commerce and Shenzhen Municipal Government, a press conference at Citizens' Center was told Thursday.
The forum will discuss how Chinese industries can use WTO rules to improve their competitiveness, and how the Chinese industry structure can be upgraded. Gao Hucheng, vice minister of commerce, will address the forum.
A growing number of limitations on Chinese exports have been threatening the safety of the nation's industries, Xie Ying, a Ministry of Commerce official, told the press conference.
'The key to reducing trade conflicts (for China) is to improve competitiveness of industries,'said Xie.
